There are some issues, for instance, sometimes the hyperlinks and videos dont open correctly, we need to close and open again the app. Sometimes you are reading the article, suddenly, the app crashes, etc. Briefly, its good enough to read de magazine. No extras.
As the iPad version is a flat copy of the print version, the content itself is as good as one would expect. The presentation however is not. The layout is challenging in the print version but on an iPad3 it becomes almost unusable as the pages render very slowly and a lot of zooming and panning is required to read. Given the magazines topic, I would have expected better. This digital edition is a big let down. 1 star for the overall experience
Dear publishers: turning your regular magazine into a bunch of JPEGs makes for a very unpleasant reading experience. You cant even tap an article in the contents to jump to it. Everything about this is completely wrong. Its clear that Future Publishing either doesnt understand iOS devices at all, or is simply too lazy or greedy to spend the time and money to properly adapt its publications for these new devices. Probably both.
All these newsstand apps are awful, adapt so that its iOS compatible…
Reading a PDF of a mag on a two inch screen. Very difficult! Cant be saved or printed. Not really worthwhile. They seriously need to rethink what they offer with digital editions. Cant believe they charge so much for this.
1 star= content 1 star= interactive level
Basically just a PDF viewer with some minor lipstick. Was really expecting better from a high-end (and expensive!) web design mag.
What a piece of crap. If u like reading PDF versions of magazines on ur iPhone get it, otherwise stay clear.
Subscriptions that automatically renew until you tell it to stop! Really?!!!! What a scam. If I pay for a 1 year subscription I do NOT want to have my account billed until I tell you to stop. If I want another year I will tell you.
Horrible user experience, worse than a PDF reader, dont bother with this one!
For a magazine that is focusing on innovative web/app technology this almost seems like a joke. I bought an issue on creating a web app, tried to purchase another… doesnt work. Coincidence. What infuriates me more is the fact that this is simply a PDF reader which is optimized for print. An optimal display size for reading is 16pt, this is probably 12? I suggest you download wired, or any app that was created with the adobe digital publishing suite. Its been proven time and time again that PDF readers dont work well on iPads. @n8brophy on Twitter.
Zinio is a much better app for magazine reason on iOS. They offer the same magazines at comparable prices and has a far better interface. Apple newsstand is just not measuring up.... disappointed...
I installed and is not downloading my purchases in my iPhone... Go and fix this.
Im not paying $7 an issue for PDFs that dont cater to iPhone or iPad specifically Im deleting this near immediately after seeing the free samples quality
When I think, .net I think professional ,also I think Creative, the pages are great, and well-documented so also the term Colourful comes to mind. Best of all, the magazine keeps its theme and in order too!!
I really enjoyed this up until i could no longer read it on my device. I have the first ipad which still functions great, but the ios software upgrades have dragged it down. This is why i have a hard time investing in another one. I miss paper, you didnt have to upgrade it! I paid for a year and now cant get my monies worth!
Love it, works perfectly and amazing content
Regretting update of this app, it worked fine until yesterday and now, after the update, I can no longer read the magazines. They appear blank and I have to restart my iPad to view the library again.
Must have for all interested in web-design and development.
